Mallige Kannada Association of North Texas is a 501C-3 non-profit organization and has a charter of helping other needy charitable organizations. We would like to emphasize on Article 4 of our constitution which says we MUST have at least one fund raising event and contribute toward charitable activities. Keeping the aforesaid objective in focus, MKANT Committee has decided to select one organization per year and help in raising funds for their cause. This year we have identified Nireekshe – a school and activity center for special and differently abled children in Mysore, Karnataka. Nireekshe means “Hope” and it is a hope for many children who have special needs in the learning process.
In Nireekshe, they believe “Every Child is SPECIAL as they are the children of Almighty” and they give utmost dedication and love with patience to rehabilitate and educate the children who are unable to cope-up with the mainstream schooling system due to various disabilities like Down Syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia and other behavioral issues. You can make a huge difference in such a child’s life by your donations.
Mr. Vatsa Ramanathan, President of MKANT traveled to Mysore and visited Nireekshe and met with the teachers and children of the school. He says that it was a “heart touching experience!”
