About Us
Mallige Kannada Association of North Texas (MKANT)

MKANT is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization formed primarily for cultural and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 ( c ) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. Specifically, its aims and objectives are:

  • To provide a common platform to all members living in the North Texas area for pursuing their common interests and sharing their concerns.
  • To promote, coordinate, and support joint efforts in the social, cultural, educational and charitable activities.
  • To act as a spokesperson for the people with ties to the language of Kannada (the official language of the State of Karnataka in India) within the larger community of the people of Asian Indian origin.
  • To foster friendship and understanding between the Members and the community at large.
  • To conduct and celebrate social and cultural events.

About MKANT Logo

Our logo has a human chain around Karnataka with a cow boy hat looking at a mallige flower which represents Kannada community in the North Texas Region looking at Mallige Kannada Association of North Texas. The human chain signifies all the Kannadigas in the North Texas region understanding, supporting each other, holding each others hand representing unity and integrity with high regards. The logo has colors red and yellow from Karnataka flag.
